After School Sessions are designed for first time and experienced cast members in grades 1-8.  This session introduces students to a wide range of theatrical skills through the lens of the show.  They will have the chance to create, collaborate, and perform as they sing, dance and act.  Rehearsal sessions take place at your host school site.  Cast members will see their hard work pay off, and feel the magic of the stage when this full scale production is presented at

24th Street Theater.

Registration Opens: August 27

Last Day to Register: September 10

  • Registration is open to students grade 1- 6.

  • Once you have completed the online registration and tuition, audition materials will be emailed to you within a few days.

  • Everyone registered will be cast in the ensemble.  Audition will determine specific roles.


Tuition: $275 (due September 10)

Parent Commitment  

  • By registering for this workshop session, each family agrees to complete one volunteer position.  Please see the Parent Committee Form on the online registration page (coming soon) for jobs and descriptions.  If you are unable to commit to a parent position, please include the $100 "opt out" fee with your tuition payment.

Additional Expenses

  • Each cast member will be required to provide their own base costume, which generally includes a base leotard, tights, and dance shoes, or changing shorts, t-shirt, socks and dance shoes.

Refund Policy

  • No refunds will be made after your child's initial audition.

  • If you withdraw prior to your audition day your tuition will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee.

  • No refunds will be given to cast members removed from the cast for behavioral reasons.


General Auditions
Date: September 16

Time: 2:30-5:00

Location: Phoebe Hearst (Cafeteria)

Once you have submitted your completed online registration and tuition payment, you will receive a Dropbox email with a link to download the audition music.


  1. Prepare one song from the Frozen Jr. soundtrack. (We will hear about 1 minute.)

  2. Choose one audition side (scene) from the Broadway Jr. website.  Follow the link below to Broadway Jr.'s “Audition Central”.  Select “Disney's Frozen Jr” from the drop down menu.  There you will find a list of the characters in the show. Choose ONE side (under the “script” column) for your audition.  A reader will read the opposite role with you. (click here)

Auditions will begin with a quick warm-up and short dance combination.  Cast members will then perform their chosen song and scene. You are allowed to leave once you have finished your audition and your parent has signed you out.  We start with the youngest cast members first so they can be excused first.  The oldest cast members should expect to stay until the end.  We may run late.

For those who are not comfortable auditioning, it will not be required.  You will still be cast in the ensemble.  Even if you are not planning to audition, please come to the audition day so you can see what it's like, the directors can meet you, take your picture, and give you your script.

Audition tips:

  • Please have all audition material memorized.  

  • Think about the words to your song and act it out.

  • We want to see your personality and character.

The callback list and schedule will be emailed after the general auditions. Those called back will be asked to read sides from the script, and sing for specific roles. We may not need to see everyone for a 
callback.  Please remember, all registered participants will be cast in the show and will have a lot to work on!  It's going to be so much fun, no matter what part you get.  Every part is important!


After School Rehearsals
Dates: September 23 - November 6
Times: Mon/Wed (2:30-5:00)
Location: Phoebe Hearst Cafeteria

  • The Directors will meet the cast in the rehearsal area as soon as school lets out.  Cast members will have a few minutes of free time to have a snack and go to the bathroom before rehearsal starts.

  • Rehearsal schedules will vary depending on what is being rehearsed.  You may not be scheduled for the entire session.

  • You will receive a detailed schedule once the cast list has been posted.

  • Bring your script and a pencil to rehearsal.

  • Wear comfortable clothes you can dance in.

  • Please check your schedule and come to rehearsal "off book" for the scenes and songs we are working on that day.

  • Rehearsals begin with musical theater warmups and exercises that lead into working through the music, choreography, and staging of the production.

  • Cast member may not leave the rehearsal area until a parent has signed them out.  Cast members who go to 4th R will be walked over.

Tech Week

Tech Week Rehearsals
Date: November 9 - 14
Times: (TBD)
Location: Sierra 2 (24th Street Theater)

  • Tech week is an exciting week of rehearsals at the theater when we set the technical aspects of the show, and for the first time the cast and crew start working with sets, props, costumes, lights, sound, and spacing.

  • Cast and crew members will be scheduled for 3 dress rehearsals.

  • All tech week rehearsals and performances are mandatory.

Cast and crew call time is 1 hour prior to each performance.
