After School Sessions

Grades 1-8

After School Sessions are designed for first time and experienced cast members. This session introduces students to a wide range of theatrical skills through the lens of the show. Cast members will see their hard work pay off when this full scale production is presented. Rehearsal sessions take place at your host school site.

Main Stage

Ages 10-17

Dedicated and experienced students ages 10-17, from all over the Sacramento region, come together to develop their musical theater skills, and experience creating live theater together.

Company Captains

7th-12th Grade

Company Captains are part of the directing team and mentor After School session casts. They gain confidence through leadership and experience a deeper understanding of the process from pre-production to performance. Captains are selected from the Main Stage Cast applicants.

Summer Camp

Ages 7-18

Summer Camp is a 3 week, intensive session. Cast members rehearse Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. This session is good for first time performers and experienced theater students. Rehearsals and performances take place at Sierra 2/24th Street Theater.

This session is designed for experienced theater students. Rehearsals take place at YAS Studio. Performances are held at 24th Street theater. This session is cast by audition.

The Actors Stage

Adult +

The Actors Stage is the community theater wing of Young Actors Stage. This is an adult production that may incorporate a small number of children. All ages and types are encouraged to audition.
